Limited Warranty
Your Downeaster products are built
to the highest standards and should provide you with years of
satisfaction. This warranty is issued by Downeaster Manufacturing
Co., Inc., 574 Route 6A, Dennis, MA 02638 USA Tel. 508-385-8366
(Fax 508-385-8208). This warranty is limited to those Downeaster
products which are purchased from Downeaster dealers. Downeaster
warrants its products to be free from defects in material and
workmanship as follows: Classic, Medallion and Seafarer instruments
for FIVE years from date of original purchase; Weatherhelm for
ONE year from date of original purchase. Any defective weather
instrument returned to Downeaster during the warranty period
will be repaired or replaced at the option of Downeaster, free
of charge. Downeaster disclaims any liability for damages
resulting from delay or loss of use in service or repair or for
incidental or consequential damages arising out of breach of
this warranty or any implied warranty , or damages due to improper
installation or use, lightning or unauthorized service Some states
do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to
you. Implied warranties on the product shall be in effect only
for the duration of the express warranty set forth above, and
thereafter there shall be no warranties, express or implied,
including the warranty of merchantability of the product. Some
states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty
lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty
gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights
which vary from state to state.
Who is covered by the warranty?
This warranty extends to the original
consumer purchaser only.
Time period of the warranty
The term of this warranty shall commence
on the date of original purchase and is as follows: Classic,
Medallion and Seafarer instruments for FIVE years; Weatherhelm,
Fishing Barometer, Fishing Clock, Fishing Tide Clock, WhirlWind
for ONE year from date of original purchase.
What is covered by the warranty?
This warranty covers all Downester products
in the Classic, Medallion and Seafarer lines for FIVE years;
Weatherhelm, Fishing Barometer, Fishing Clock, Fishing Tide
Clock, WhirlWind for ONE year. Any Downeaster product which
has been properly installed and which fails to function properly
under normal use due to defects in material or workmanship,
will be repaired by Downeaster at no charge for parts or labor,
or, at the option of Downeaster, the product will be replaced.
What is not covered by the warranty?
Damages or malfunctions not resulting
from defects in material or workmanship, and damages or malfunctions
from other than normal use.including, but not limited to unauthorized
repair, modification, accident, improper installation or lightning.
Please follow carefully th installation instructions accompanying
the product to assure proper functioning of the instrument
and to protect your rights under this warranty.
What to do when service is needed
Package the product carefully, using
ample protective material to prevent damage in transit and
either deliver it to Downeaster or ship it postage prepaid
and insured to:

When returning an item for service your package
should include:
- Evidence as to date and place of purchase.
- Proof of purchase is required as a condition of this warranty.
- A description of the problem.
- Your name and address.
- If return freight is required beyond the 48 contiguous United
States, please contact customer service to arrange for
payment of return freight
charges.
Warranty Card
Downeaster does not require that the
Registration Card be returned as a condition of service under
this warranty. However a registration card received by us will
be kept on file for date and place of purchase should service
be required.
